23 Things on a Stick
A library learning 2.0 project, this is kinda the same thing as our blog page just a little easer to communicate..I did sign up and I did leave a comment on someones page(someones?) and maybe ill get a responce back..we'll see.

thing 20/ facebook and myspace.com

I have joined both myspace and facebook our library dosnt have a myspace..I think our carver cnty link has all the updates and info that we could put on myspace.libraries... my opinion on face book it kinda sucks, you get all these extra games survays and other crap you dont know what to do with, the only reason i have either of them is just to say Hi to friends when i have no time to chit chat..and find old friends..its kina like a people searcher..thats fun..

thing 19 /PodShow

This Thing really doesn't apply to me, I don't know how to download anything to my phone..which i don't have a I-phone or a mp3player or a I pod..so kinda pointless for myself. but anyone who has these items it would be good..i went and looked a 3 of the directories and there fun to watch but other wise i wouldn't have time to work with them but thanks for the Knowledge.

Thing 16/ RPC

How might the RPC and the Teacher Guide help you help students plan and manage research projects?
Can you think of any uses for library projects—could you use it to help manage a timeline for a project of your own?

The RPC could really help students..i just pretended that I was a student and said my class was 23 things on a stick and that the due date was the 15th and it had all these questions what to do and how to get it done in time.. pretty nifty..i would use it to prompt me for somthing..as i did it kinda gave me a plan of action..

As for library projects..we could deffinantly use it in the remodeling of the chaska library..kinda give us a heads up on whats to come in the near feature..

thing 15/ second life

I officially have a second life..the comp at the library didn't have enough juice for the night..but i hung out on a island and I do have flying abilities. What do you think about them cookies... the second life would probabally be more fun if i had a microphone and i could actually talk to the people otherwise i guess ill have to say " to be continued!" until i know more about the site

tools, they are great if you have a computer at home.
the calandar i set up and will keep..it can link to a whole buunch of my pages and bloggs

.. I really do thing alot of these sites are great, but really for some one who is organized and has alot of time to set it all up and look at every day

so, I signed up for digg, Reddit,and mixx. How do you think you can use these tools in your library or at home? I think you could use in the library instead of looking and the newspaper or you could look up specific things that your interested in and not all the other crap your not interested in. Have I ever read a story/item as a result of seeing it on one of these sites? well for people who are involved in the news and whats going on in the world it would be great to check out the sites once in a while .. and you can vote wether or not you like the articales. i've only looked at these sites for the 23 things on a stick. Other wise i probabally wouldnt go on them..not my thing.

so, I labled things i just really dont understand how it helps me out? where in the heck do i go to find my lables or tags.. is there a site that i can go to and look up my tags or lables?

I have already set up Wikis, but i really dont get it. I went into my acct and dont really know what to do with it. Its more like another blog in a way.. i have so many accnts i dont know what to do with them all.. also i went in to the 23things on a stick Wikis and tried to comment but i needed some pass code that I couldnt find so i gave up.

Thing 9/ Google doc's/Zoho Writer

Google Docs and Zoho Writer..... I set up both accts and got no where with either of them.. I pulled up the"Original Rough Draught of the Declaration of Independence" and have no clue how to edit the doc. or transfur it to either acct. I tried tried and tried again and think my brain hurts form the effort. The founding fathers would be pretty disapointed in me, because truthfully I wouldnt know where to begin in the editing process in the first place.. bu-dum-bump!

So, I set up fliptrack,Zoho,Slideshare,EFolio minnesota and picture trail. First off if your in school/office setting and want a great portfolio the Efolio is for you.. its great and has lots of options but I myself dont really need it for any reason. Fliptrack i just dont get. zoho Is cool but it didnt do what I had in mind for it to do and Slideshare is great for presintations and such.. My favorite was Picture trail, easy fast and has so many options.. I loved it.. as you can see i set up a really cool slide show.. It has music attached too. Thing 8 was a lot of work and now I think I have set up about a billion sites..it is gonna be hard to keep up with them all..

There was so many steps in thing 7..out of all of them I really only have the technology for the text messaging... so I chose a friend to be my text buddy. not to much to say about step 7 besides all this instant messaging and text and web confrencing is a really quick and fast way to say hi or take a class on the web and not even leave the comfort of your home. NICE!

Yeah, I set up my flicker acct and added it to my blog, also had some more fun with "more flicker" some of the pictures on this sight, are absolutely amazing..as you can tell by a pic called " Waiting in vain" I love it..

Thing 2:thoughts on 2.0

So, here are my thoughts on the 2.0, I love that libraries are up to date with technology, and even beyond our times. The scary thing is that our books, is what makes our libraries. I know the good old card catalog is long gone and we have the computers taking over. We now have books on the computer you can download to your MP3 player, Ipod and even have a play-away pluse much, much more that I don't even know about. These are all wonderful and great resources for our patrons, at the same time are we making it to easy to avoid the library altogeather? Back to my book issue, are we taking for granted the injoyment of reading? ( Out of a book, literly) I just hope that technology dosnt take over our books, and we still need the book stacks and not walk in to a library and all you see is computers with head phones and digital people talking to you. but real live peole with real books..were only on 2.0 but what about 4.0 the neo Library with 3-D librarians? This said by Dr.wendy Schultz: Library 4.0 revives the old image of a country house library, and renovates it: from a retreat, a sanctuary, a pampered experience with information—subtle thoughts, fine words, exquisite brandy, smooth coffee, aromatic cigar, smell of leather, rustle of pages—to the dream economy’s library, the LIBRARY: a WiFREE space, a retreat from technohustle, with comfortable chairs, quiet, good light, coffee and single malt. so, i went to yahoo ( thanks Kierstin) and created my avatar.. it was quite fun..well, for a girl getting to create a look of cloths,hair,accesseries and a back ground. I injoyed it very much so..off the subject of 23 things on a stick, i really was on minnesots side for the weather, and i was sticking up for its routhless anticks, until we had a heat wave (of 35) and then it decited to blow us away with this wind from who knows where..but who ever is on mothernatures bad side..stop it..I NEED sun and 35 above weather to be on the hap-hap-happy side of Minnesota..and at this point i'm not..
